What are anti-wrinkle injections?
The anti-wrinkle injections have the key active ingredient called botulinum toxin (Botox). It is a prescription-only medication that we source only from UK pharmacies. Botox can be used to smooth and reduce the lines and wrinkles which add to the ageing appearance. They are a quick and convenient way to improve the appearance on the forehead, between the eyebrows and around the eyes without any need for surgery.
How does it work?
The anti-ageing medication is injected into specific muscles to stop them from contracting. This then prevents the lines and wrinkles from appearing to give a smoother and more youthful appearance. This treatment also prevents lines and wrinkles from getting worse.
When is the best time to start anti-wrinke treatments?
It is worth considering anti-wrinkle treatment when lines and wrinkles begin to appear readily during regular or mild facial expressions, such as smiling or frowning. Usually, this begins to happen towards the late 20s and mid-30s but varies from person to person. It is best to start Botox treatment earlier than later to maintain a smooth, youthful appearance and delay the signs of aging by preventing further, deeper lines and wrinkles from appearing.
Frequently Asked Questions
How much does a Botox treatment cost?
The cost of a Botox treatment for 1 area is £200. For 2 areas, the treatment is £250. For 3 areas, the treatment is £300. All treatments include an initial consultation and a review appointment after 2 weeks.
Does a Botox procedure hurt?
The treatment is relatively painless to a minimal level of discomfort. The injections are so small and shallow, they usually don’t cause more than a slight sting. The area may feel tender or slightly sore afterwards, but this usually fades quickly. Some people may also experience mild bruising at the injection site, but this is usually temporary.
How long does a Botox treatment last for?
Botox treatments can last between 3 – 5 months. The more regularly you maintain your treatment, the longer it can last.
How quickly can I see the effects of a Botox treatment?
It takes 4 – 10 days for the effects to show. Most people start to notice an improvement in their lines and wrinkles from day 4 and enjoy the results for 3 months onwards.
What are the most common side effects of a Botox treatment?
Some people experience small spots of bruising where the medicine has been injected. This is most common around the corner of the eyes as the skin is thin and there are many tiny vessels. The small bruising can usually be easily covered up by make-up and usually disappears within 1 – 2 weeks.
How long does a Botox procedure take?
The actual procedure takes approximately 5 – 15 minutes to complete the small injections in the appropriate places. Your appointment will usually be booked for 30-45 minutes to make sure there is plenty of time to discuss your medical history, aftercare instructions and to ask as many questions as you need.
Is a review appointment included in the price?
All treatments include a 2-week review appointment to check the progress of your treatment and make sure you are happy with the results. Before and after photos are usually taken to see the progress made.
What happens if I need a top-up?
At the 2-week review appointment, a top-up dose can be given where appropriate to make sure you get the best results from the treatment.
All treatments include:
- an initial consultation;
- review appointment after 2 weeks;
- a free top-up dose at the review appointment if required.
